چکیده

Brazing generally require cumbersome apparatus be it induction, vacuum or torch brazing. In torch brazing, metals are joined by using the oxyacetylene cylinder. It thus becomes difficult to carry out brazing at the places where it is not possible to take heavy gas cylinders and brazing apparatuses. So it is tried to figure out the method to carry out brazing at places where conventional brazing is not feasible. And thus Brazing was done by usual Shielded Metal Arc Welding, by developing the electrode composition for the joining process of three different kinds of metals and alloys, without using the oxyacetylene cylinder and other heavy brazing apparatus. The results show that this newly developed brazing method gave almost same appropriate welding results as it is given by the conventional brazing method. Flux composition is determined to braze three combinations of metals and alloys  Aluminium and Copper  Galvanized iron and copper  Galvanized iron and aluminium

Investigation on effect of holding time in brazing of steel to cemented carbide using Cu-Ag alloy filler metal

Nowadays, cemented carbides-steels joints by brazing method are taken into consideration. One of the problems of these joints is the creation residual stresses that can reduce it with choose correct parameters of brazing. In this study, Silver base alloy filler containing copper, zinc and cadmium have been used in temperature 780°C and the effect of time parameter 5, 10 and 15 minutes on micros...

Effect of Welding Heat Input on the Intermetallic Compound Layer and Mechanical Properties in Arc Welding-brazing Dissimilar Joining of Aluminum Alloy to Galvanized Steel

The effect of weld heat input on the formation of intermetallic compound (IMCs) layer during arc welding–brazing of aluminium and steel dissimilar alloys, was investigated through both finite element method (FEM) numerical simulations and experimental measurements. The results of FEM analysis as well as welding experiments indicated that increasing weld heat input increases the thickness of IMC...

Optimization of vacuum brazing process parameters in AA6061 using Taguchi method

Vacuum brazing products have excellent joining quality, less deformation and fewer residual stresses. The vacuum brazing technique has significant effect on the microstructure and property of the aluminum brazed joint, but there is little discussion about the optimization of the process. This study investigates how different process parameters affect the tensile properties of 6061-T6 aluminum v...

Transport Phenomena Involved in Controlled Atmosphere Brazing of Microchannel Aluminum Heat Exchanger

Controlled atmosphere brazing (CAB) is a state-of-the-art joining technology associated with high production rates of many products, including microchannel aluminum heat exchangers. The complex designs of highly augmented compact heat transfer surfaces impose very difficult requirements for a brazing process. Regardless of the fact that brazing is a highly developed engineering art, many state-...
